Meet the team

Carolyn Young

Practice Manager

Originally from Inverness I started as a trainee dental nurse in 1998 at 17 years old.  I have gradually worked my way through the ranks over the years progressing to a qualified dental nurse in 2002, then head dental nurse quite quickly.  I moved to Edinburgh to study in 2004 and have been a practice manager for the past 8 years, joining the Ferryburn family in 2016.  I am hugely committed to dentistry and ensuring that patients are given the customer journey that they really deserve.  I like to update my skills and ensure that the team I manage are continually developing too.  I completed my Childsmile extended duties dental nurse qualification in 2012 and in 2017 I have undertaken the degree level qualification NES Practice Management Vocational Training which has been a big challenge but really benefitted me in my position.

I am a proud mother to a gorgeous daughter and wife.  I have various craft related hobbies such as needle felting and cake making and love live music and gardening.

Dr Lubino do Rego

Dentist BDS (Dund)
GDC no. 70852

I’ve been at Ferryburn Dental practice for close to a year now but for those who I have as yet to have the pleasure to meet, let me introduce myself. I was brought up and schooled in this beautiful city but travelled to Dundee to pursue my career in dentistry. For generations, my family have been associated with medicine and dentistry and I unsurprisingly, followed two other brothers into the profession. I was fortunate to graduate with my Bachelors in Dentistry from the prestigious Dundee Dental School in 1995. I’ve been very fortunate in my career path and have found myself working in fabulous practices with strong moral and ethical drivers. Indeed, I choose the environment that I know can support my style of dentistry. So, what is my style? Let me say, it is based upon understanding patient concerns and seeking solutions to pressing issues whilst simultaneously implementing elegant preventative solutions. It’s heavily influenced by the understanding that patients have their own challenges out with dentistry. Indeed with the joy of having two sets of twin girls, I can empathise with many who are hard pressed for time. I have a keen interest in several areas of dentistry and particularly, anxious patients, children’s dentistry , the stopping of bleeding gums and the creation of partial and full high end natural looking dentures. Of course, my dentistry is not limited to this scope but these areas are where I aim to excel. Again, my name is Lubino do Rego . Book an appointment to see me, tell me your concerns and let me help you make those a thing of the past.
